Before installing door and window frames, prepare the tools to be used. This is to facilitate you during the actual work and not hinder the process. With the complete and easily grabbed tools, installation can be completed within a shorter period.
Measuring the opening is necessary to ensure that it is appropriate and can bear the load when the doors and windows are in place. Opening should be measured on all sides, starting from the length, width and diagonal sides by using the measure tape or infrared spirit level. Also, it is necessary to ensure that the wall to be installed the panel is equally flat. To carry out the examination, you can use spirit level.
After making sure that the opening is suitable, you need to mark where to place the screws in order to attach the bottom of the door and window frame. The whole process should be done from inside of the building. After completing the bottom part, make sure that the frame fits well with the provided opening. Check the window frame by using the measure tape and check the diagonal gaps of both sides, the width, and the length. It must be ensured that none of the part is higher or lower than one another for more than 3 mm (1.5 mm on each side).
The technique used to turn the screws is not arbitrary. The screws can be turned tighter by using a plastic wedge to support inner and outer parts of the frame. The screws should be turned by starting from the bottom part. After the installation, check the level of door and window frames by using spirit level and thread to measure the top frame, ensuring that the frame does not bend.
The next step is fitting the glass on door and window frames. Place the glass panel starts from the outer frame. The window should be placed from the bottom, and the inner frame should also be done in the same way. After that, slide and see whether the frame line in the middle is perfectly overlaying on the other or not. If not, it means that the fitting is not correct, so it should be repaired.
The last step is to fill in the gaps between the outer frame and the wall to complete the job. Don't forget to use masking tape to prevent the door and window frames from being stained. After protecting the perimeter with masking tape, fill in the gaps between the outer frame and the wall with backing rods before filling all the gaps with sealant. Wait for it to dry and the job is complete.
